Setting Up Internet Mail



From start Menu go to Programs and select Internet Mail

1. Select "Tools"
2. Select "Email Accounts"
3. Select "Add a new email account"…..”Next”
4. Select “Pop3” under “server type”……. “Next”
5. Under “User Information”,
6. Your Name : Type “your full name”
7. Email Address : Type “your email address”
8. Under “Server Information”
9. Incoming Mail Server (POP3): Type “sltnet.lk”
10. Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): Type “auth.slt.lk”
11. Under “Logon Information”
12. User Name : Type “your mail address”
13. Password : Type “your email password”…. Click “remember password”
14. Click “More Settings”…… “Outgoing Server”
15. Click “My outgoing server (SMTP) required authentication
16. Click “Log on using”
17. User Name : Type “your mail address”
18. Password : Type “your email password”…. Click “remember password” ** Important
19. Click “Ok” …… “Next” ….. “Finish”

Configuring Mail Delivery Option

1. Open Microsoft Outlook
2. Select “Tools”
3. Select “Email Accounts”
4. Select “view or change existing email accounts”
5. Select “Next”
6. Select you SLTNet account
7. Select “Change”
8. Select “More Settings”
9. Select “Advanced”
10. Uncheck “Leave a copy of messages on server” if it is already selected else leave it as it is.
11. Select “OK”
12. Select “Next”
13. Select “Finish”
