SLT remote VPN provides remote offices, telecommuters and mobile users access to their
corporate VPN. It enables users to access their VPN while at home using any access line or
even when they are traveling abroad, via internet.

On-Net VPN access is direct access to the corporate VPN through narrowband PSTN or ISDN
dial-up connections.
PSTN Number - 011 2493000 or 1252
ISDN Number - 011 2460341 or 1253
Off-Net VPN Access
Off-net VPN Access is accessing the corporate VPN through internet or broadband ADSL connection

Authentication
User Authentication will be based on two factor authentication. Two factor authentication refers to
the situation when you are identified by something you know , and something you have (your
PIN and a number displayed on the token provided by the SLT for each user account). It is the
same method you use with your ATM card.
One Time Password (OTP)
For assuring security the user authentication will be based on OTP. OTP token is a hardware token,
which generates 6-digit numbers to use when you access the systems. It is lightweight, waterproof,
and tamperproof having a valid lifetime.

When you use your OTP Token to enter a password, your password is your (PIN + token-code) .
The token-code is the 6 digits displayed by the OTP Token. The password must be a single
string
without spaces. For example, the OTP Token above is displaying a token-code of "234836" .
If your PIN was "abcde" you should then enter "abcde234836" as your password. Since the
token-code changes every 60 seconds, this combination of PIN + token-code may only be
used one time , hence the term One-Time Password is used .
Each token contains a unique cryptographic key used in combination with an algorithm that
generates a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds. Only the authentication server knows whether a
number is valid at that precise moment in time for that user.
Personal Identification Number (PIN)
You will be supplied a secret PIN by the SLT. The PIN will be 4 to 8 characters in length and
contains only valid characters: Numbers 0 through 9, Letters 'a' through 'z'. |
