Web filter block these sites for the users
who has filtered Internet service.
Q. Why can't I download some
file types when using this service?
A. E.g. Mpeg file
types are blocked as this video clips can contain inappropriate
contents.
Therefore some file extension types are
blocked.
Q. Can this web filter check
languages other than English?
A. If the site is
banned as a bad site it will be blocked. Otherwise it is open.
Q. Can this web filter block
sites with only pictures?
A. If the site
is banned as a bad site it will be blocked. Otherwise it is

Q. How to get assistance
if the site which you think appropriate, is banned?
A. Get the assistance
from main account holder. If the main account holder considers
it as a
good site, then the main account holder
can request to un-restrict the corresponding site.
SLTNet will analyze the request and site
will be unrestricted depending on the number of
requests. Such requests should be directed
to filtermanager@sltnet.lk.
Q. What is caching?
A. Your computer keeps
the information of the web sites you browsed. When you access
the
same site next time information is retrieved
from your computer. Therefore it is advised
that main account holder clear the cache before
computer is handed over to filtered
